Sokol Minnesota

Czech and Slovak Sokol Minnesota is a comprehensive social, cultural, educational, and gymnastic organization serving the Saint Paul, MN community and beyond. Founded in 1882, Sokol Minnesota is affiliated with American Sokol, which traces its roots to an international movement established in Prague in 1862 by Dr. Miroslav Tyrš. The organization provides diverse programming designed to engage individuals and families through physical fitness, cultural preservation, and educational initiatives.

Based at the historic C.S.P.S. Hall—a National and State Historic Site built in 1887—Sokol Minnesota operates from Minnesota's longest-serving Czech-Slovak cultural center and the state's oldest theater and national hall. The organization offers extensive activities including gymnastics programs, fitness classes, educational language programs, and cultural events such as traditional Czech and Slovak folk dancing. Through its many social activities and educational programs, Sokol Minnesota works to preserve and transmit the vitality of Czech, Slovak, and immigrant heritage to future generations.
