Brazos Valley Czech Heritage Society

The Brazos Valley Czech Heritage Society (BVCHS) in Bryan, TX offers comprehensive cultural programming designed to preserve and celebrate Czech, Moravian, Silesian, and Slovakian heritage for the Texas community. Since its establishment in 1997, BVCHS has grown to over 100 adult and 13 youth members, providing diverse educational and social activities that connect people with their ancestral roots.

Key offerings include Czech Language Classes held each spring and fall semester, taught by experienced instructors from the Czech Republic and designed for both beginners and advanced speakers. The organization hosts specialized Czech Baking Classes in spring and fall, where participants learn authentic techniques for preparing traditional kolaches and holiday breads while taking home their creations. BVCHS also facilitates genealogy research services at no cost, with experienced members available to help locate Czechoslovakian ancestors and document family histories for future generations.
